Vista which was suppose to be more secure, more reliable, easy to use, (showered with all the nice marketing terminologies) is already showing its true colors.
It has a serious security flow that allows any application to play with the core kernel, this is potentially dangerous as someone can use this to write a virus, put a trojan, infect your pc with a spyware and create all kinds of havoc. Read more.
The blog world is filled with how insecure Vista is. Some more interesting reading. BBC says:
Microsoft has admitted that speech recognition features in Vista could be hijacked so that a PC tells itself to delete files or folders.
Forbes.com screams: More than five years in the making, more than 50 million lines of code …. Vista is at best mildly annoying and at worst makes you want to rush to Redmond, Wash. and rip somebody’s liver out.
Please don’t do anything like ripping anyones liver. Just rip out Vista and put Linux 🙂
Yup….I agree….Ram hogging piece of guff!! I beta tested it and have used the release version. Bored, bored, board!!! Why, why, why?
I spent 6 months in a leaky boat. Now I’m back on dry land with suse 10.2. Although not happy with Novell’s recent antics, suse just works for me.

WINDOWS VISTA IS A NIGHTMARE!
NEWER ISN’T ALWAYS BETTER!
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I REALLY KNOW MY WAY AROUND A COMPUTER.
USING 2 OF THE EXACT SAME BRAND NEW GATEWAY LAPTOPS FOR MY BUSINESS – (BOTH WITH IDENTICAL SPECS) ONE WITH WINDOWS AND THE OTHER VISTA, THE VISTA HAS MAJOR UNACCEPTABLE SOUND ISSUES, COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS AND MANY OTHER ISSUES THAT THE WINDOWS XP LATOP DIDN’T.
VISTA IS A MAJOR SYSTEM HOG USING WAY TOO MUCH MEMORY TO RUN IT.
MAKING IT SLOWER THAN THE XP RIGHT OFF THE BAT.
NO LIE IT TOOK ME 48 HOURS JUST TO “SCAN” A FILE WITH VISTA THAT TOOK WINDOWS XP ONLY 8 HOURS. KEEP IN MIND BOTH LAPTOPS HAVE 2 GIGS OF RAM.
VISTA IS VERY CONFUSING.
TO GET TO CONTROL PANEL ICONS IN VISTA, IT TAKES 3 TIMES AS LONG AS XP HAVING TO CLICK THROUGH SO MANY PAGES TO GET TO WHERE YOU WANT TO GO. IT IS VERY ANNOYING AND TIME CONSUMING.
EVERY PROGRAM I INSTALLED HAD TO BE MADE COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS XP.
(IT WAS NOT FUN AT ALL)
I GOT ENDLESS SECURITY AND OTHER WARNING POP UPS UNTIL I DISABLED UAC.
THERE ARE ALMOST NO SOUND OPTIONS AND CHOICES IN VISTA. (AND WHO KNOWS WHAT OTHER OPTIONS)
THERE ARE MANY OTHER BAD THINGS I COULD POST ABOUT VISTA BUT LONG POSTS DON’T GET READ.
I HAVE SEEN NO BENEFITS AT ALL FROM VISTA, ONLY HEADACHE AND A MAJOR WASTE OF TIME.
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY, THE WORLD IS NOT READY FOR VISTA AND VISTA IS NOT READY FOR THE WORLD.
NEXT TIME YOU BUY A BRAND NEW COMPUTER, INSIST IT HAS WINDOWS XP.
JUST DO NOT BUY IT WITH VISTA UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO WIPE IT CLEAN AND USE WINDOWS XP, PROVIDING IT IS ABLE TO EVEN RUN XP.
LONG LIVE WINDOWS XP AND LONG LIVE THE COMPUTERS ABLE TO RUN IT!!!!

I have worked in IT for over 10 years. All Windows! VISTA is absolute CRAP!!!!!!! I have two friends, both not very computer literate who asked me to help them with their NEW Dell laptops with VISTA. The lappy’s are the $600.00 variety…fairly low end, but they will run XP just fine. BUT, Vista runs worse than a 386 DX25 with Windows 3.0 on it! It was the most painful experience I have ever had trying to get anything accomplished. Not only Microgod but Dell too should be ashamed of pushing what appears to be great deals on new equipment that doesn’t run Vista…heck Vista barely crawls on these things. I told them both to send the laptops back and insist on new ones with XP Pro installed. Life is (sorta) good again!
I have been using Vista for a long-time now and to tell you the truth, it has in its very own way to screw things up. Windows XP has been around for quite a while and apart from a few gripes, it’s excellent. I have also been testing Ubuntu and OSX and they’re both excellent platforms. Windows truly has a long way to go. They want to succeed by making everything appealing to the eye.. let’s see how far they can go with it.
